In order to train local and federal agencies for potential terrorist attacks, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory is leading an exercise on Research Park Thursday.

The six-hour exercise, which will be closed off to the public and media, will consist of a mock terrorist attack at the Orlando Tech Center on Research Parkway, according to a press release.

Police and emergency vehicles will be on the scene at the Tech Center and in the parking lot of University Tower between 6 a.m. and noon, but the exercise poses no real danger. During those hours, access to the Orlando Tech Center will be limited.

Members of the U.S. Army, Orange County Fire Rescue and others will be participating in the training, which is a requirement for emergency preparedness for military installations.
