UCF Zeta Tau Alpha is slated to host its annual dance competition, Zeta Lip Sync, after a week of philanthropic events to benefit breast cancer education and awareness.
The dance competition is between UCF Fraternity and Sorority Life, and will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the CFE Arena. Doors open an hour before the battle begins, and tickets can be purchased for $6 at the event.
Last year, the sorority raised $25,000 for breast cancer awareness, and $13,000 of that came directly from the Zeta Lip Sync event.
On Monday, the sisters will hold a car wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UCF Kappa Sigma house on Greek Park Drive as part of the fundraising efforts for breast cancer awareness.
The sorority's philanthropy week kicked off with the ZTA Kiss Away Breast Cancer event on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the UCF Student Union. Students were encouraged to donate a dollar, apply their favorite shade of lipstick and pucker up to kiss a banner in the effort of spreading breast cancer awareness.
The event will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the Union. Tickets for Zeta Lip Sync will be on sale for $5 during the ZTA Kiss Away Breast Cancer event as well.
ZTA also hosted a barbecue at Lake Claire on Thursday, where guests could make any donation amount they chose while enjoying the savory meal and getting to know fellow Greeks.
According to the sorority's website, all the proceeds made from each of these events are directly donated for women who are battling breast cancer. Those interested in donating to the cause can give at https://www.tilt.com/tilts/zetas-fundraising-page-for-lip-sync.
