In preparation for the flu season, the UCF Health Center is hosting a Healthy Knights Expo, an afternoon of free flu shots, health screenings and wellness workshops for students on Oct. 7.
Starting at 10 a.m., students can stop by the Student Union's Pegasus Ballroom for healthy cooking demos and safety tips from the UCF Police Department. Flu shots will only be administered to students who bring their I.D.
The schedule is as follows, according to the website:
10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. — Guide to a Balanced and Beneficial Workout Routine
Hosted by the Recreation and Wellness Center, this workout workshop will offer information about the RWC's services and tips for reaching workout goals.
11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Not Your Mama’s Sex Talk
Student Health Services and Wellness and Health Promotion Services will collaborate for a workshop addressing sex concerns and sexual health myths.
11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. — How to Build Resiliency
UCF Counseling and Psychological Services will voice tips on coping with stress.
12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. — Are You Safe?
The UCF Police Department will offer identity protection tips and information on safety procedures.
1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. — FreshU Cooking Demo
The UCF Arboretum will provide fresh produce during this cooking demo. Students can taste and take home food from the demo.
