On Monday, the College Democrats at UCF will host "UCF Stands with Paris" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside of the Student Union.
At the event, students will have the opportunity to sign a banner with messages showing support for the 127 victims killed during the Paris terrorist attacks on Friday night.
"We want to show how much we are standing behind Paris. We will be supplying information about how people can donate to the cause," said Nikki Mariutto, president of College Democrats at UCF.
Mariutto, the event's coordinator, said the banner will be presented to the French consulate in Orlando on Thursday.
Mariutto is looking to team up with other organizations on campus, such as the National Organization for Women, and the College Republicans at UCF, to show that everyone can be united during a travesty affecting people internationally.
"We just want to show our support for Paris and the victims and the survivors dealing with the aftermath," she said. "This is a bi-partisan issue. This is very new to all of us."
For students looking to get involved, visit the College Democrats at UCF's website for more information.
