A College Station resident was shot inside his apartment Tuesday night, just a few miles away from the UCF main campus.

Orange County Sheriff deputies responded to Renaissance Court late last night for an aggravated assault with a firearm. The victim, 20, was injured with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, said OCSO public information officer Lourdes Clayton. UCF Police spokeswoman Courtney Gilmartin confirmed he is not a UCF student.

The victim was in his apartment when a black man he didn't know entered his bedroom. The suspect, who has not been identified, shot him and demanded his money. After the victim complied, the suspect fled. This investigation is active and ongoing.
