UCFPD asks for help to identify burglary suspect

The UCF Police Department is asking for help to identify a man suspected of burglary in UCF’s Performing Arts Center.
The crime took place on Wednesday, Jan. 15 between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect, captured on surveillance video, identified himself as “Thomas” to a witness. He was described by witnesses as a tall, white, college-aged man with dark hair, according to the UCFPD. Witnesses also say he smelled of cigarettes and was seen smoking near the building.
The stolen items included a projector, a wireless point access and an American flag, which were reported to the police Thursday morning.
The suspect left garage H in a dark gray 4-door car, possibly a Dodge Charger. The car had a small red symbol on the bottom right of the grill.
UCFPD asks anyone who recognizes this man or has any other information to call 407-823-5555.
This is an ongoing investigation.
