From 9 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Saturday, the UCF Police Department will take part in a county-wide DUI crackdown, capping off spring break week for the university.
Spring break is a time when UCFPD sees more cases of binge drinking, oftentimes ending in deadly consequences, according to a bulletin from the agency.
Joined by other Central Florida agencies, including the Orange County Sheriff's Office, UCFPD will be on the lookout for impaired drivers near UCF. Suspected drivers will be pulled over and asked to complete a sobriety test. As always, of-age drunken drivers will be arrested and jailed, while those under age — with any alcohol in their systems — could face license suspensions.
