The Osceola County Therapeutic Equestrian Center, a therapeutic riding center that helps autistic children, combat veterans and movement disorder patients with emotional and physical healing, will open this Thursday.

An opening ceremony will be held Thursday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m.

At the center, Dr. Manette Monroe, assistant dean of students at the UCF College of Medicine and associate professor of pathology, along with the McCormick Institute, will perform scientific studies on how equestrian therapy impacts healing.

Among those attending the ceremony will be UCF College of Medicine founding Dean Dr. Deborah German, Country Commissioner Fred Hawkins, Jr. and Dr. Manette Monroe.
