UCF student Jonathan Justin Hui was arrested yesterday for allegedly filming underage girls in the bathroom, according to the UCF Police Department.
Hui, 21, an international and global studies major, angled his cellphone beneath the partition of a restroom stall to film a girl using the toilet at the CFE Arena around 6 p.m. The girl, who was attending a cheerleading camp, was informed by her friends in the restroom that she was being filmed, according to the arrest affidavit. She banged on the stall partition and demanded that he stop, saying that “it is creepy and gross.”
The other girls sought out a coach, who witnessed Hui leaving the restroom. When approached, Hui ran away, fleeing through Jimmy Johns and out onto Memory Mall. He was detained at Starbucks by student-athlete Tristan Payton and another individual, who took away Hui’s cellphone until officers arrived on scene.
Hui admitted to investigators that he had filmed the girl in the women’s restroom, stating that he intended to videotape the girl’s feet and send it to his friends because he thought “it was funny that he was in a restroom full of females,” according to the arrest affidavit.
UCFPD Det. Eric Walton, a digital forensic expert, was given consent to access Hui’s phone. Upon unlocking the phone, Walton was presented with a “screen asking for confirmation to delete contents.” The first video Walton witnessed showed the girl standing up in the restroom stall and raising her pants.
Hui was charged with two counts related to possession of obscene material, one count of burglary of an occupied structure, one count of lewd and lascivious behavior and four counts of sex offense – video voyeurism.
