UCF's chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity was awarded with the Founders Circle award, the highest honor a Kappa Sigma chapter can earn. Only eight of 314 chapters nationally received the award, according to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life website.

The chapter also received other awards, such as Outstanding Single Community Service Event award in regard to its Chrismakkuh-Benefiting Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Florida event; the Top 25 Recruiting Chapter; and the Chapter Intramural Achievement Award, the OFSL website stated.

On an individual basis, Dennis Hooper was awarded the Outstanding Grand Master Award and Brandon Schwab was awarded the Outstanding Grand Treasurer award.

The UCF Kappa Sigma chapter, which recently reorganized in 2010, also earned its fifth Founders Award for Chapter Excellence.

According to the OFSL website, Kappa Sigma remains the most sought-after college fraternity in the world, with roughly 17,500 members throughout chapters in the United States and Canada, as well as more than 200,000 alumni around the globe.
