Welcome to the new Central Florida Future.

As the premier, most-trusted provider of news to the UCF community, we have a responsibility to you, the reader, to provide the most accurate breaking news and the most diverse entertainment section in the Orlando market, as well as the most complete UCF sports coverage. But to do that, we need your help.

We have an accomplished, award-winning staff — with the best sports section and breaking-news coverage, according to the Florida Press Association — which has been a campus staple for 46 years. But 10 people can't be everywhere at one time. If you can invent a way to do that, please let me know and we can get rich together.

In all seriousness: We want YOU to be apart of the Central Florida Future. Yes, we have contributing writers (any student regardless of major can write or take photos for us), but in reality anything helps. If you see something on campus, just one phone call, email, tweet or Facebook post can get you in contact with our team to help get the news in the hands of the readers

Likewise, a news organization is only as good as its readers. You have a stake in this as well. If there is something that we're missing, please contact us and let us know. We want to hear your feedback. We want to write what you want and need to read.

If we're meeting your standards, great. Let us know; everybody likes compliments. But more important, if you think we can do better, let us know that, too. We're bound to make the occasional mistake, but it's your job to hold us as accountable, as we do with UCF, SGA and other campus entities that are charged with spending your tuition money.

Lastly, let us know what you think about our new look. We've been — literally — counting down the days to the launch.

We're excited at the opportunity to take what we already do great, to a whole new level.

Have a great semester, and we'll see you on newsstands every Thursday and online daily.
