There is only one preseason game on tonight. The Jacksonville Jaguars are in Chicago for a meeting with the Bears. What should you watch for? Read on.
Chicago figuring out what's next at linebacker: The Bears are still deciding who to go with at middle linebacker. D.J. Williams and Jon Bostic have both shown glimpses of being the guy for the Bears. Can one of them have a memorable game and make the spot his own?
A glimpse of Blake Bortles: The Jaguars are taking it slow with their first-round draft pick. He isn't expected to start this season, but will see plenty of playing time in the preseason. Bortles will play for just the second half, but it will be another way to see his progress.
Battle to watch — Jimmy Clausen and Jordan Palmer for no. 2 QB: In a switch from last week's preseason game, Clausen will relieve Jay Cutler against the Jaguars. Palmer was expected to walk into the no. 2 job, but Clausen's play changed that. Considering Cutler's injury history, the Bears' no. 2 usually does get significant playing time, and can, as Josh McCown did, turn the spot into a starting job elsewhere.
Can Jaguars' defense hold up? Against Tampa Bay last week, the Jaguars' first-team defense was in for three series, and had a sack, an interception and a forced fumble. But Chicago's offense is much more potent than Tampa Bay's, and will feature Martellus Bennett, who was suspended last week. Can Jacksonville still create havoc?
