The UCF Women's soccer team looks to get the ball rolling when they visit Florida Gulf Coast University in their season opener on Friday at 7:00 p.m..

With only one preseason game on tap for the Knights, they were able to pull a 4-0 victory on Friday vs. Jacksonville. Senior Tatiana Coleman provided the team with two goals and one assist, while incoming freshman Bridget Callahan made her debut after scoring off a set piece play.

While the Knights begin their season on Friday, they will be missing one key piece to their starting unit. Sophomore Lena Petermann is currently on national team duty for Germany, participating the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which is taking place in Canada until August 24.

UCF will look to enhance their past season performance after going unbeaten in conference play last year, finishing overall with a 16-3-4 record.

The Knights' home opener is set for Sunday, Aug. 24, when they welcome the University of Miami to the UCF Soccer and Track Stadium at 1:00 p.m..
