UCF continued its quest Friday to schedule competitive and prestigious opponents to its non-conference schedule.
UCF and Stanford announced a two-game home-and-home series with national power Stanford. The Cardinal will host UCF next season in a game scheduled for Sept. 12, 2015 and Stanford will travel to Bright House Networks Stadium on Sept. 14, 2019.
The 2015 contest will be the first time UCF faces a team from California (barring unexpected schedule changes).
The matchup will also be a contest between two BCS teams from 2013. The Cardinal fell to Michigan State in the Rose Bowl last season, and UCF knocked off Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.
Stanford has turned into a national power in recent years, consistently competing for the Pac 12 crown, and it has been a staple in major bowl games.
