The groundbreaking ceremony for the Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership was held Nov. 21.
The ceremony occurred at the building's proposed location on the east side of the Bright House Networks Stadium. President Hitt, vice president and director of athletics Todd Stansbury, key donors and several UCF student-athletes were in attendance for the proceedings.
The $6 million, 3-story structure will serve as the headquarters for nearly 500 student-athletes, according to a press release from UCF News & Information. The finished building will occupy 22,000 square-feet and boast tutoring and mentoring rooms, conference spaces, a computer lab and a multi-purpose classroom with space for up to 200 students.
