A former UCF sprinter and first-ever NCAA Champion from UCF, Aurieyall Scott, 22, was arrested for unarmed robbery.
Scott, who graduated from UCF in 2014, was arrested on a warrant following an investigation into the report of a theft at a Bradenton, Florida, Wal-Mart.
Two women were seen by a loss prevention officer at the Wal-Mart attempting to conceal items in a shopping cart on Oct. 23, according to documents released by the Manatee County Sherriff's Office.
When the women tried to leave the store, a store manager approached them. The manager told investigators he apprehended one of the suspects, but the other punched him twice in the face and then both women fled the scene. They did not take any merchandise with them.
Deputies obtained an arrest warrant based on store security footage. Scott was arrested on charges of unarmed robbery, battery and resisting recovery of property. She is still in custody.
Scott is currently a member of the USA Track and Field Team and trains at IMG Academy. She is a seven-time All-American.
