Freshman Adonys Henriquez earned the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week award with a 21-point performance against the University of Detroit Titans. He helped the Knights snap a three-game losing streak as he shot 7-of-10 from the field and added seven rebounds in their 75-70 victory on Wednesday.
Henriquez was awarded the Knights' second Rookie of the Week award this season. Fellow freshman B.J. Taylor was awarded the honor on Nov. 17 for his 14-point performance in the Knights' season opener against Stetson University.
The 21-point performance marked the second time that the freshman led the team in scoring. He previously did so against Eckerd College in the second game of the season.
Henriquez is averaging 11.3 points per game, which is good for second on the team. He also leads the Knights on the court with 33.5 minutes per game.
The Knights will take the court for their first conference game of the season when they host Tulsa on Dec. 31 at 12 p.m.
