Just more than two weeks after UCF opened up sales to its East Side Club, the university has sold nearly half of its seats for the beach-themed premium seating area.
The East Side Club, which has not yet broken ground in Bright House Networks Stadium, is slated to hold 964 fans with the cost at 900 for a season ticket. UCF's associate athletic director for sales and service Jeff Keisler said that his team has fielded more than 2,000 phone calls about the club since sales opened Jan. 26.
"We're not sold out yet, but I think that's the key — is yet," Keisler said. "I think now, almost without exception, everyone in the [athletics association], including myself, thinks that it is only a matter of time before we sell out. Anyone thinking they will be able to pick out a seat in August for the East Side Club is going to be mistaken and surprised."
Fans who have been displaced from their regular seats because of the East Side Club were the first who were allowed to purchase seats in the club — in addition to current season-ticket holders. The seats will likely be available to the public on Tuesday or Wednesday.
"I have a forecast that I do, and I can say right now we are way ahead of my forecast," Keisler said. "I anticipated we would be at or around this level at the end of February and we're there the 9th of February. We're pushing 50 percent of being sold out in the East Side Club."
The East Side Club is a 10,000-square-foot premium seating location that will be built between the 30-yard lines. The Club will feature a sun deck with a view of the field, as well as a covered lounge area underneath of the stadium seats.
Membership to the club comes with Gold Zone parking, enhanced Wi-Fi,private restrooms, chairback seats and more than 15 flat-screen televisions. The club is set to break ground within the next month.
The first major change to the stadium since its construction in 2007, the beach cabana-type area will serve beer, frozen drinks and soft drinks. The area will also be open hours before and after games, allowing fans to pre-game and celebrate victory without ever leaving the stadium. Members will also be permitted to rent the space for private events.
