Good news for impatient football fans: The Knights will take the field at Bright House Networks Stadium a little earlier than expected.
UCF and FIU have agreed to move their season opener to Sept. 3 instead of the originally scheduled Sept. 5 kickoff, according to a press release from UCF Athletics.
George O'Leary and his boys will start the 2015-16 season with a seven-game winning streak in Thursday games under their belts. Coming off 10 consecutive wins at home, UCF will travel to California, where it will take on Stanford Sept. 12.
The schedule is highlighted by a trio of tough road games in Stanford, South Carolina and Cincinnati and games against five bowl teams from 2014.
