Junior running back William Stanback has received a spot on the Doak Walker Award Watch List for the second straight season on Thursday.
The trophy is awarded to the nation's top running back, according to a press release. The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will select 10 finalists on Nov. 18 and name three finalists on Nov. 24. The winner of the award will be announced live at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 19 on ESPN.
Stanback showed his athleticism when he arrived at UCF in 2013. As a special teams contributor, he was voted on to the All-American Athletic Conference Second Team as a true freshman after rushing 443 yards and scoring 6 touchdown. He worked his way up to the All-American Athletic Conference First team in 2014 after accumulating 697 yards on 189 carries with 10 touchdowns, according to the release. During Stanback's football career as a Knight, he had 1,140 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.
