It's been quite a season for Saga Fredriksson. The sophomore defender was named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season.

The only defender in the league to earn the honor multiple times this season, Fredriksson earned the first distinction Aug. 31.

Fredriksson assisted on two goals in UCF’s game against Georgetown Friday night, including the cross to Carol Rodrigues on her game winner, securing the Knights the 3-1 win. She played all 90 minutes of the game.

Along with the standout performance from Fredriksson, sophomore forward Hannah DeBose earned her spot on the American’s Honor Roll, notching her first career goal and first assist of the year in the win.

The Knights (5-2-1) start conference play Thursday as they host Temple at 7 p.m. The Knights are the back-to-back AAC regular season champions and hold a 16-1-1 record in the conference since joining in 2013.
