The UCF softball team posted the 11th-best GPA in the nation last year, according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The NFCA announced Tuesday that the Knights combined for a 3.509 GPA during the 2014-15 school year.
The Knights were led by senior pitcher Mackenzie Audas on and off the field last season. She led the Knights to their best season in program history, a 50-9 record. She posted a 25-8 record on the mound with 268 strikeouts and a 0.87 ERA through 208.1 innings. According to the release, she was one of six UCF softball players who maintained a 4.0 GPA last season.
Audas became the first UCF player in program history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
UCF is in the midst of fall ball exhibition games and will take the field Friday at 5 p.m. against Seminole State College at the UCF Softball Complex.
