UCF volleyball senior Abbie Fleener earned the first American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor Monday, according to a press release.

She posted 24 kills and a .432 hitting percentage in victories on the road against Tulane and Houston.

“Abbie has worked very hard this fall and is very deserving of this award,” acting head coach Michelle Chatman said in a press release. “It’s a testament to all of the extra work that she and the setters have put in, coming in before and staying after practice. They’ve put in a lot of time to establish a connection so that Abbie can be a major contributor for the team this year.”

The right side hitter led the Knights against Houston Oct. 30 with 16 kills and added six against Tulane Nov. 1. Both were 3-0 victories.

The Knights (14-11, 8-5 AAC) face East Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m.
