After finishing his second season as the skipper of the UCF baseball team, Terry Rooney agreed to a contract extension keeping him at UCF through 2014.
"I am very pleased with the progress of our baseball program under coach Rooney," Tribble said in a release. "We've continually improved during his first two seasons at UCF, both academically and athletically. With his exceptional recruiting, we've established ourselves as a program that can now compete for our conference championship in upcoming seasons."
Rooney finished the 2010 season with a 33-22 overall record and 10-14 in the conference, the most Conference USA wins since the Knights won nine league games in 2009.
In his second year, the Knights increased their win total by 11 games. UCF completed the 2009-year with a 22-35 mark and a 9-15 in Conference USA.
"I am extremely pleased with the direction of our program and the strides we have made the last two years," Rooney said in a release. "With the upcoming stadium enhancements and further upgrades, the future of UCF baseball is bright and I look forward to continuing on as the head coach."
