The signature smell of pumpkin spice will be hitting the streets — and taste buds — before the weather has a chance to catch up here in the Sunshine State.

With record-high temperatures and green-as-can-be trees, the autumn season seems light-years away for Floridians.

But for Starbucks lovers, the classic pumpkin-spice latte was released Tuesday, marking a turning point into fall festivities.

"Although our other pumpkin spice beverages and treats won't be available until probably right before Halloween, we will have the ingredients to make other pumpkin beverages," said Christine Bowen, a Starbucks barista.

Dunkin' Donuts will also begin its pumpkin invasion for customers starting Monday, according to its official Facebook page.

Moreover, other popular companies couldn't wait any longer to release their annual signature fall items for their eager customers, either.

Sweet! By Holly is already previewing its annual pumpkin-spice cupcake this weekend, even though the shop will officially launch its seasonal items starting Oct. 1.

After having a lot of requests for pumpkin lattes on its Facebook and Twitter pages, Boston Coffeehouse in the Waterford Lakes Town Center has already released its pumpkin beverages, including its pumpkin caramel, pumpkin white mocha latte and pumpkin chai.

"Starting in September, we are going to feature the caramel apple and banana bread latte, as well as the pumpkin-patch mocha," said Nicole Ryan, a Boston barista.

Students looking to enjoy a night out barhopping may be excited to try a taste of the alcoholic fall beverages as well.

The Orlando Brewing Company is returning its Grateful Pumpkin organic spice ale on tap starting Sunday. With a combination of organic cinnamon, ginger, allspice, pumpkin-pie spice and even a touch of pumpkin, it is guaranteed to be a "Darn Good Beer."

Whether it's food or drinks, it doesn't seem like your stomach will be able to escape the captivating taste of pumpkin this fall.
