It's time to practice your scales and clear your throats: UCF's Contemporary A Capella groups are holding their fall rush this week.

Rush will start Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building Art Gallery with a discussion on a capella and how to do well in an audition. Interested students will get a chance to meet members of Contemporary A Capella and learn how to get more involved. UCF's Contemporary A Capella is comprised of five singing groups: So Noted and KeyHarmony, both all-female; Voicebox and Gemini Blvd., both co-ed; and Crescendudes, the all-male team.

The audition period will then kick off Monday, with men's auditions on Aug. 31 and Sep. 3, and women's auditions Sep. 1, Sep. 2, Sep. 4 and Sep. 8. Those auditioning can sign up for a time slot online, but walk-ins are also welcome.

To audition, students should prepare one verse and a chorus of a song. Sight reading, a range test and an interview are possible audition components as well.

The location of the auditions are to be determined, but students will get an email with all details before their audition.

More information can be found on the event's Facebook page, as well as the audition sign-up page.
