UCF's annual Safety Fair will be held in the Pegasus Ballroom Wednesday to promote all things safety-related.

Victim Services will be coordinating UCF's fifth Safety Fair in the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in honor of National Campus Safety Awareness Month.

The fair will be showcasing on- and off-campus services related to violence and crime prevention, fire safety, health and wellness and community awareness and support, According to a press release, according to a release.

"Personal safety is no longer optional but mandatory in today's day and time," UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said in a release. "We want students to come out and learn about the resources we have to offer them because as we know, it's better to be safe than sorry."

Representatives from three local domestic-violence shelters will be at the fair to educate students.

Students can learn about how to stay safe with the right knowledge and tools to prevent and report crimes through information, activities and demonstrations.

"Especially in today's age of electronic theft, computer crime and social media, we want students to consider their safety on campus, off campus and around the clock," Beary said.
