UCF ranked No. 3 'up-and-coming' university
UCF is receiving even more recognition after recently being ranked as the nation's No. 3 "up-and-coming" university by U.S. News and World Report.
With more than 1,300 higher-education institutions being categorized, UCF is the only Florida school ranked among the 14 universities listed on the 2015 Best Colleges Ranking.
The up-and-coming category is primarily based on a nationwide survey of college administrators. Their roles are to select institutions that have made the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, student life and facilities.
The top five universities - accompanying UCF - are University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Arizona State University, Northeastern University and the University of Southern California, respectively.
Other recent recognition given to the university includes being listed among the best colleges for veterans, being ranked 173rd among national universities and being ranked 99th among public universities. All of these rankings were conducted by the
U.S. News and World Report.
The top 10 national up-and-coming universities list is as follows:

2. Arizona State University
3. University of Central Florida
4. Northeastern University
5. University of Southern California
6. Georgia State University
7. Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis
Tied for 8: Clemson University and Portland State University
Tied for 10: Biola University, Drexel University, George Mason University, Tulane University
