Dodgeball tournament to benefit Autism Speaks
A dodgeball tournament to benefit the autism-awareness charity Autism Speaks will be held at Lake Claire Wednesday evening.
The sixth annual Dodgebrawl tournament is hosted by the UCF chapters of Alpha Xi Delta and Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. and the tournament starts at 6 p.m.
"Alpha Xi Delta's national philanthropy is Autism Speaks, so there are many events going on throughout the year to help raise money and awareness for such an important cause," said Rebecca Hisamoto, public relations vice president for the sorority.
Anyone in the Orlando community is welcome to come out and participate with a team for a fee.
Each team is encouraged to help raise money and awareness for autism during the competition by donating money, wearing costumes and spreading the word about Autism Spectrum Disorder, Hisamoto said.
