Recruitment is here, and students now have the opportunity to register for a UCF Panhellenic sorority in the fall.

Mandatory registration opened Monday for students to get a head start on the process, which can be done online until Aug. 15.

In order to register, students must know their student PID number and have an accessible student email address. For students who are already enrolled at UCF, there is a 2.5 GPA requirement to register.

Students have to pay $75 to rush, but the price will increase to $85 after July 15.

The registration fee will go toward setting up recruitment, which will take place from Aug. 16 to Aug. 22.

The chapters participating in recruitment are Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Zeta, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi and Zeta Tau Alpha.

Each day of recruitment has a different routine, with a specific dress code. The first night of recruitment will be Greek Forum, the last day will be Bid Day and the girls will be visiting each Greek house in between.

For Greek Forum, participants will meet their recruitment guide, or Rho Gamma, and get prepared for the upcoming week.

A Rho Gamma consists of sorority women who are selected by an extensive and competitive application and interview process conducted by the Panhellenic Executive Board, according to the UCF Panhellenic website.

Each Rho Gamma will have a group of nine to 13 girls who are going through recruitment.

Aside from Rho Gammas, there are recruitment executive board members who are made up of six to seven Rho Gammas.

Leading up to recruitment, these recruitment executive board members and Rho Gammas are disaffiliated from their sororities the entire summer in order to provide an "unbiased experience" for the girls participating in recruitment.

On Bid Day, the girls participating in recruitment will go home to their new sorority, along with the disaffiliated members.

If participants cannot attend an event during formal recruitment, they are invited to attend Greek Knight Line-Up instead. Students can sign up on the UCF Panhellenic website.
