The UCF College of Business Administration accounting programs have been recognized among the top 50 in the nation. released its annual rankings of the "50 Best Bachelor's in Accounting Programs" and the "50 Best Master's in Accounting Programs," with UCF sitting No. 42 and No. 49, respectfully.

The lists examined accounting programs at private and public colleges and universities in the U.S. and based their rankings on competitive graduation rates, reputations and curriculum standards, according to the site.

"It's really impressive when you realize that there are over 1200 U.S. business schools with undergraduate accounting programs," said Sean Robb, director of UCF Business Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting, in a press release.

Schools were asked to submit at least two out of the four following metrics: acceptance rate, enrollment rate, retention rate and graduation rate.

In both lists, UCF placed behind the University of Florida and Florida State University. The Gators ranked ahead at No. 4 for their bachelor's program and No. 6 for their master's program, while the Seminoles ranked in at No. 26 for their bachelor's and No. 31 for their master's program.

The University of Miami was the only other state school to make the list, cracking one spot below UCF at No. 50 for their master's program.

"The high level of faculty engagement with students through office hours, College of Business events, and student organizations is what gives the Dixon School an edge in accounting education," said Renee Giron, an accounting alumna and former college student ambassador, in a press release.

Established in 1968, the UCF College of Business Administration offers a wide scale of degrees from bachelor's to executive levels. The Kenneth G. Dixon School of Accounting is accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
