Suspect in Knights Circle assault arrested by UCF PD
UCF PD has arrested a man at Knights Circle in connection with a sexual battery that took place at the complex on Nov. 16.
According to a UCF press release, 22-year-old Edward Santana Thorpe was arrested just before midnight on Dec. 25 on a warrant. He was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious conduct, lewd and lascivious battery and the possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, according to the Orange County inmate database.
The warrant for Thorpe was issued earlier this week following interviews conducted by Det. Vargas.
Thorpe has no UCF affiliation and is not a resident of the complex.
The victim of the alleged rape was a minor with no UCF affiliation who met the suspect on Nov. 16. The victim and a female friend entered Knights Circle with the suspect by voluntarily jumping a wall.
UCF PD will give its investigative materials to the State Attorney's office for further analysis and action. Thorpe is being held at the Orange County jail. Bail is set at $5,250.
