The UCF men's soccer team doesn't start its season until the end of the month, but it already has momentum on its side after one exhibition game that saw the Knights pull a 3-0 victory on Sunday.
Romario Williams, who was named the American Athletic Conference Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, scored a hat trick for the Knights versus Jacksonville.
"We haven't done much offensive work at practice," Williams told UCF Athletics. "We want to execute the things that we have been working on at practice."
After the team finished 8-5-5 last season, and with only one in-conference loss, Williams' performance may be the key offensive piece in the UCF starting lineup.
The season opener is set for Aug. 29 at Portland, and the Knights' kickoff for their first home game is on Sept. 5, when they host Florida Atlantic.
The first conference game is slated for Sept. 27, when they welcome the University of Memphis.
