Win or lose, Knights fans will have a new place to land booze come football season.

With talk of a "tiki bar" rumbling around Bright House Networks Stadium since August, UCF Athletics announced Monday that the Florida-themed lounge will be up and running by the time the Knights storm the field in September.

A 10,000-square-foot social area located between the 30-yard lines, East Side Club will feature chair-back stadium seating and an open-air sun deck, along with refreshments, televisions, private restrooms and other amenities. When fans register for ESC membership, Gold Zone parking will be included in the package.

"The ESC gives us an opportunity to expand our premium experience offerings," UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Todd Stansbury said. "We've been sold out of premium seating for the last few years, so the ability to provide more premium seating and amenities was a definite need for us."

Originally proposed with an approximated $1.4 million price tag, the extension's cost has since ballooned to an estimated $2.5 million, UCF spokesman Andy Seeley said in a previous interview with the Central Florida Future.

The first major change to the stadium since its construction in 2007, the beach cabana-type area will serve beer, frozen drinks and soft drinks. The area will also be open hours before and after games, allowing to pre-game and celebrate victory without ever leaving the stadium. Members will also be permitted to rent the space for private events.
