UCF Baseball is ranked inside the top 10 in the country for the first time since 2012.
After UCF's an impressive 2-1 series win over Ole Miss, a team that made it to Omaha for the NCAA Tournament last season, the Knights (10-1) are ranked No. 9 by D1baseball.com.
After falling to an early deficit in each of the first two games of the series, they won each by one run. In the opener JoMarcos Woods hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give UCF the 5-4 win, and in game two, the Rebels scored a run in the top of the first before UCF went on to win 3-2.
The win on Friday, which moved UCF to 9-0, gave it the best start in program history.
Next up for the Knights is a home and home series against No. 2 Florida. It is the first top-10 matchup in school history for UCF. The Knights will play in Orlando on Tuesday night and then play game two in Gainesville on Wednesday.
