Representing UCF on the national stage, sophomore J'nea Bellamy and freshman Jhane' Carter competed at the USA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon this past weekend.

Bellamy, the 2015 AAC Most Outstanding Track Performer, ended her second year at UCF with one last sprint at USA Senior Championships.

The Miami native was one of 32 professional and collegiate athletes across the nation to qualify for the championships in the 200-meter dash.

She finished with a time of 23.42 seconds, placing 21st in the preliminary round and ninth among collegiate student-athletes.

Carter, who sat out her freshman season as a redshirt, placed 14th in the shot put at USA Junior Championships. She ranked 11th among collegiate student-athletes with a mark of 13.61m/44-08.

At season's end, Bellamy received three honorable mentions by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for her performances in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and as a member of the 4x100-meter relay team.

The remaining cast of senior Kirsten Nieuwendam, junior Briana Vaughn and redshirt junior Christal Peterson, also earned the honors after placing 21st in the NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this month.

The UCF track and field team has had a total of 44 All-America First Team, Second Team, or Honorable Mention honors since 2010.
