UCF women’s basketball coach Joi Williams announced the Knights 2015-16 schedule on Wednesday, which will include 15 home games.

This season, the Knights are scheduled to battle 11 programs that advanced to the WNIT or NCAA Tournament last year.

“We are very excited.  We have a competitive non-conference schedule that will challenge us and prepare us for play in the American Athletic Conference,” Williams said in a press release. “We have a young and energetic team that has been working hard in the weight room and in the gym this offseason. We are eager to get out on the floor and compete against some very good teams.”

UCF will tip off the season on the road Nov. 14 against the University of Nebraska-Omaha and make its home debut against FIU on Nov. 17.

Over the thanksgiving holiday, the Knights will host Buffalo and Butler in the UCF Thanksgiving Classic.

UCF’s non-conference matchups finish on Dec. 30 in a neutral-site battle against Florida in Jacksonville. It will be the first time the two have met since 2010.

UCF will begin 2016 at home when Cincinnati flies in for conference play on Jan.2.

The Knights face off against two-time defending NCAA champion UCONN Huskies, on Jan. 20.

USF will return to Orlando for an ESPNU matchup on Jan. 24.

The Knights will have their longest home stand of the year with a trio of games against Tulane (Feb.17), SMU (Feb.20) and Houston (Feb.23) and wrap up regular season action at Temple on Feb.29.

The American Athletic Conference Championship will be hosted in Uncasville, Connecticut, March 4 through March 7. The conference’s winner receives an automatic entry into the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
