The Knights add another alumnus to the NFL, as former UCF wide receiver J.J. Worton has been signed to the St. Louis Rams.
Formerly an undrafted free agent, Worton finally gets his post-college opportunity after tearing his ACL late in his senior year, which prevented him from participating in pre-NFL Draft activities. He is the 20th UCF alumnus on an NFL roster.
"My dream is still the same and that is to play in the NFL," Worton told the Future in December 2014. "I've faced adversity before and I've overcome it."
Worton worked out for the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots before signing with the Rams. He looks to help the Rams receiving core, which before his signing only had five receivers.
Best known for his diving one-handed catch in the end zone at Temple during the 2013 season, Worton looks to build on his productive collegiate career during which he caught 168 passes for 2,360 yards and 21 touchdowns in his four yours. The yardage landed him in the UCF top 10 for career receiving yards.
The St. Louis Rams next game is Sunday, Dec. 13 at home against the Detroit Lions.
