The Knights’ perfect season came to an end Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Texas State Bobcats 2-1 on the road at Whataburgur Field in Corpus Chrisri, Texas off a come-from-behind two-run seventh inning.

After going six innings of near-perfection, striking out four and walking three, the Knights were able to supply a run in the fourth inning off a double off the left field fence by junior left fielder Austin Griffin. The Knights relied on defense and pitching skills to keep the Bobcats off the scoreboard from there.

The Knights couldn’t contain for the whole game though as Texas State managed to squeeze in a couple of batters on the bases by having three hits off two UCF relief pitchers, setting up a double that scored the go-ahead run for Texas State.

UCF will stay in Texas to conclude their stay at Whataburger Field as they take on Michigan State at noon on Sunday. The Knights will then travel home to host the No.1 Florida Gators on March 1 at 6:30 P.M.
